After a year from hell, with Covid-19 lockdowns, restrictions of travel and curfews. It was great to get out and explore and feel a sense of freedom and relief. Trentham Falls was just the ticket. Being Just over an hours drive North/west from Melbourne. And only couple of minutes from the historic town of Trentham.
It is located in the Coliban River Scenic Reserve, and is Surrounded by awesome bushland, including the towering manna gums. You can enjoy a picnic or hike in the surrounding forest. It’s an easy walk from the carpark to the viewing area.
The falls has drop of 32 metres, it is one of Victoria’s highest single-drop waterfalls. The water, plunges over ancient basalt columns. It would look pretty impressive in winter, after the rains.
There’s something about waterfalls, that captures my imagination. The way the power of water can carve through rock over thousands of years, to create a curtain of water that soothes the mind. How nature can create such beauty unsurpassed by anything humans can imitate. That’s why love nature.
