The Trip Into Finke Gorge National Park

8/09/219

It’s time to reach my final destination, Finke Gorge National Park.Β It was an easy 120km drive West of Alice to Hermannsburg. Then a 22 km gravel road into Finke Gorge NP. Lots of corrugations, sand and river stone. But not to bad. The track meanders in and along Finke River. Fortunately the river was dry. Making it easy to traverse.Β

Once in Finke Gorge NP, near the camp ground, the Rangers Station is hidden away from view. I was introduced to the Ranger on duty and promptly shown my accomodation. After unpacking, I soon flaked on the comfy bed. It has been a long week of travel and tenting it. My new home for the next three weeks is a welcome respite.
